Automotive interiors and construction panels are also adopting natural fibre composites to save weight and carbon, which broadens the non-wood fiber market well beyond paper.

Challenges remain. Seasonal harvests create uneven supply, straw carries silica that complicates pulping, and collection logistics can erode margins. Yet process innovation is steadily narrowing these gaps.
