Web Conferencing Market Expected to Hit USD 71.7 Billion by 2036
The global web conferencing market is projected to reach USD 71.7 billion by 2036, rising from USD 25.7 billion in 2026 at a CAGR of 10.8%, according to FACT.MR Insights. The market was valued at USD 23.2 billion in 2025. Fact.MR estimates an absolute dollar opportunity of USD 46.0 billion between 2026 and 2036.
The growth reflects the continued use of remote and hybrid collaboration platforms across enterprise, education, government, and healthcare applications. AI Features Reshape Web Conferencing Platform Selection
Web conferencing platforms provide software and cloud services for real-time video, audio, screen sharing, and online collaboration. Their applications include remote meetings, virtual classrooms, telehealth consultations, government digital services, and hybrid workplace communication.
The shift toward AI is particularly visible among major platforms. Zoom launched AI Companion 2.0 in 2024 with meeting summaries, action extraction, and workflow automation. Zoom reported that active monthly users exceeded 1 million by Q3 FY2025.
Cisco also expanded its Webex AI capabilities. Cisco introduced Webex AI Agent and AI Assistant with multilingual transcription and automated meeting summaries. Cisco reported that its AI tools were used in more than 1.5 billion meeting minutes monthly in 2024.
Gartner reported that SaaS conferencing solutions accounted for 78% of new enterprise contracts in 2024, as companies continued moving from on-premises systems toward cloud platforms.
“CXOs will find this report helpful for understanding how AI-enabled meeting intelligence, enterprise hybrid work platform adoption, telehealth consultation expansion, and government digital service programmes are shaping long-term growth and competitive positioning in the web conferencing market through 2036,” said Shambhu Nath Jha, Principal Consultant at Fact.MR.
Fact.MR analysis also identifies platform consolidation as a constraint. Large enterprise accounts in North America and Western Europe are becoming more saturated. Data residency requirements in the European Union and Asia Pacific can also raise implementation costs for cloud deployments.
SaaS Deployment Holds a Leading Position
Software-as-a-Service deployment is projected to account for about 38% of the web conferencing market in 2026. SaaS platforms allow organizations to scale services without maintaining the same level of on-premises infrastructure.
Microsoft disclosed that Teams Premium exceeded 10 million licensed seats by January 2025. Total Microsoft Teams users surpassed 320 million daily active users during the same period.
GoTo has also consolidated its conferencing products. The company combined GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar, and GoToConnect into a unified SaaS collaboration platform to improve integration and increase average contract value.
Healthcare remains an area where private infrastructure continues to matter. KLAS Research reported that 34% of hospital web conferencing deployments remained on-premises or private cloud in 2024, reflecting HIPAA compliance and patient data security requirements.
Solutions are expected to account for approximately 70% share in 2026, supported by recurring software subscription revenue from enterprise, education, and government customers.
China Leads Country Growth
China is projected to record the fastest country growth at a 9.0% CAGR from 2026 to 2036. Enterprise digital transformation, domestic platform adoption, and data localization requirements are supporting demand. Tencent Meeting reported 300 million registered users in 2025.
The United States follows with an 8.8% CAGR, supported by AI collaboration upgrades and cloud-first policies. Federal Zero Trust requirements also support procurement of authorized collaboration platforms for government communications.
The United Kingdom is forecast to grow at 8.1% CAGR, while South Korea is expected to record 7.8%. France follows at 7.6%, Germany at 7.4%, and Japan at 7.0%.
In healthcare, NHS England's virtual consultation programme remains a notable demand factor. Attend Anywhere processed more than 8 million NHS video consultations in 2024, according to the research cited by Fact.MR.
Competitive Landscape Favors Integrated Platforms
Microsoft Teams, Zoom Video Communications, and Cisco Webex remain leading participants in the global web conferencing market. Their competitive positions are supported by enterprise software integration, security capabilities, and expanding AI functions.
Google Meet, GoTo, RingCentral Video, Adobe Connect, Zoho Meeting, BigBlueButton, and BlueJeans by Verizon also participate in the market.
Microsoft Teams benefits from integration with Microsoft 365, Outlook, SharePoint, Azure Active Directory, and Copilot AI tools. Zoom competes through AI Companion capabilities and its developer ecosystem. Cisco Webex targets regulated enterprise and government environments with security certifications including FedRAMP and ISO 27001.
For companies evaluating the market, compliance is becoming as important as basic video meeting functionality. GDPR requirements in Europe, data localization rules in China, U.S. FedRAMP requirements, and healthcare security standards can directly influence platform selection.
